Why Google AdSense Estimated Earning Changing Frequently ?
Most of web bloggers use Google AdSense as their important blog monetization. Especially there are lots of small web blog sites reply on Google AdSense to earn a little bit income. At least they might take advantage of AdSense money to pay hosting and domain annual fee.
Google also provides professional AdSense user management system ( or call control panel ?) which allows users maintain all ads, and view great reporters.
In current AdSense management edition we can see there are 2 types of reports in AdSense account, the one is income report which is shown as home page, another one is performance reports which gives you analyze information related all ads you set. Today we are going to give a topic which is related to the income report.
A wired problem: The Estimated Earning number keeps changing ?
If you like to watch your daily AdSense income multiple times in a day, you might see the Estimated earnings money keeps changing up and down. We met a time the number dropped $2 just in around 30 seconds, some other giant bloggers should have encountered much more money dropping dollars.** ** ## How the AdSense money comes ? If we need to figure out why the estimated earning money keeps changing, we’d better to acknowledge firstly how the AdSense earn money for you. The simple mechanism is Google get money from advertisers, then ask all registered website owners including bloggers to publish ads in everywhere in the world, then Google share the ads money with website owners and bloggers. We do not want to discuss deeply about how Google AdSense system work exactly in this blog because today we will have to focus on explaining why earning number keeps changing. Actually nobody can get exact and very inside working mechanism of AdSense unless Google themselves. What we want to mention is that Google has powerful technologies and products such as AdWords which is for collecting advertisers and AdSense which is for attacking ads publishers who are mostly website owners and bloggers. If an ad unit money generated, Google will share around 65% ad money to publisher. The ad money generating caused by clicking ad unit clicking and page view, which we had simple introduction (What is Page CTR ? CPC ? RPM ? eCPM ?) before. ** ** ## But Why Estimated Earning keeps changing though ? However, seems RPM can not explain enough why the estimated earning keeps changing and sometimes drop too much. We finally got to know a concept on AdSense: **Invalid Click.** Actually, most of estimated earning changings were just caused by Invalid Click. If Google’s system determined your website’s ad unit getting clicks were invalid, they would remove related earning from your estimated earning, the estimated earning includes all unconfirmed income, the verifying process is always slower than the real time ad unit clicking tracking, that’s why we see the estimated earning keeps changing, up or down. “…This is due to the lag between gross click counts and invalid click detection. Earnings are reflected quickly and then adjusted downward for any invalid clicks, which take longer to process. …, and the corresponding click count and earnings might then be adjusted downward in your reports if we detected invalid activity. _This behavior is noticeable mostly for accounts** with low traffic volume or a high proportion of invalid clicks**….”, _This is Google’s official answer which is about why money number changed. **** ## What the Invalid Click is exactly and How the Invalid Click Happed ? First we try to understand **Google’s official definition of Invalid Click**: _**Invalid click** activity consists of any clicks or impressions that may artificially inflate an advertiser's costs or a publisher's earnings, and for which we decide not to charge the advertiser. This includes, but is not limited to, clicks or impressions generated by a publisher clicking on his own ads, a publisher encouraging clicks on his ads, automated clicking tools or traffic sources, robots, or other deceptive software._ _Please note that clicks on Google ads must result from genuine user interest, and any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions is strictly prohibited by our program policies._** ** ## So how did invalid click happened exactly ? Google’s definition of Invalid Click can not give us full information why Invalid Click happened so frequently. Most of honest bloggers and web owners never clicked the ad unit themselves but still got the earning cut by Google (like us). Google leads publishers to find other reasons such as fake web page viewers, or even check bots at some where such as Bots at Amazon.com servers, which sounds wired, but some web owners have banned IPs which were from Amazon. However, how a fake viewer or bot could click AdSense ad unit ? We can believe the page viewing could affected by fake viewers and bots, but why the fake viewers want to click the ad unit for helping website owners or bloggers ? We will continue to find more inside AdSense information in future blogs. Welcome back to check our further blog articles. Thanks!
